We are revolutionizing the treatment of eating disorders using a new modality that adjusts to the patient’s temperament and traits and not the other way around. Patients in eating disorder treatment, from outpatient (1-2 hours per week) all the way up to daily Intensive Outpatient therapy (anywhere from 15-30 hours per week), are only in treatment 0.9% to 26% percent of their awake hours. That all changes with TBT-S treatment.
Patients living with eating disorders must make food decisions 6 times per day. This is easy for the non-eating disordered person, but a nightmare for those living in fear of food and/or weight gain. TBT-S helps the client and their support system (family, friends, other outside support), understand the inner workings of eating disorders and then learn how best to help. We view the patient as expert in their own disease. The patient and supports leave programming with a clear idea of how their eating disorder developed, how to cease reinforcing it and leave with better skills to recover, outside of program.
